Time to get back to business?

flying guy I’m doing many many many of these little wall batiks right now.  I do either very big: 4X5′; or very small: 4×4″. Right now my work table is full and I’m waxing away.  I’m particularily busy creating these guys I call “dirtybits”.   I draw them in hot wax, then colour with dye.   I leave them to process by wrapping them in plastic which keeps them damp for 24 hours, long enough for the dye to set.  This is batch dyeing.  I learned about this technique at  Maiwa Handprints, a great resource for dyers here in Vancouver.

batiktileguys.jpg I’m branching out.   I’ve found a way to expand my site and keep it current–by blogging!    I’ve put some new erincee bags and artwork up over here while I figure out how to maintain my other site, www.erincee.com.   This is like having a second home!   I’ve been wanting to let people who visit my site know what I’ve been up to but haven’t got the web skills needed to make site changes.  I think I managed to change some text to say “Happy Holidays!”  and it ended up saying that for 6 months …
